Research Justice Workshop Series:
The research justice workshop series is comprised of 9 workshops led by the RJS co-directors with Newkirk graduate student fellow co-facilitators in the 2023-2024 academic year. In each workshop students will participate in experiential learning activities to gain exposure to and abilities in Community-based Research methods. Participants will also build community, develop research practice commitments, and experiment with meta-principles for Community-based Research and pedagogy.
Each quarter has a theme.
- The fall will focus on setting up a relationship with a community partner;
- The winter, doing community-based research, and
- The spring, transitions: outcomes and endings in community-based research
Three of the 9 workshops, one-per-quarter, will focus on community building.
2024-2025 Research Justice Workshop Series
Research Justice Shop will not be offering our annual workshop series in the 2024-25 academic year. Due to funding constraints we made the decision to pause the series. We plan to launch the series again in 2025-26. Stay tuned!
We are working to secure funding to support the series and may organize some RJS events in winter or spring 2025. Please click here to be added to our mailing list and follow us on our socials, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn.
As always, we welcome feedback and suggestions!
