Our two new social media interns for the 2022-2023 academic year are Abigail Thomas and Sakhi Patel! Through curating content for all our social media platforms, our interns will help ensure the mission and goals of Research Justice Shop are shared to a wider audience online.
Abigail is an incoming fourth-year undergraduate at UC Irvine, majoring in English and minoring in Creative Writing. Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Abigail transferred from Las Positas College to UCI in 2021. She hopes to teach English at the community college level in the future. Abigail is part of the Internships for English Majors, a program that matches students with organizations around UCI’s campus to support their communication needs and develop their skills.
Sakhi is an incoming third-year undergraduate student at UC Irvine, majoring in Pharmaceutical Sciences. A lifelong resident of Imperial County, Sakhi’s research interests stem primarily in pharmaceutical care in rural or underserved communities. She hopes to become a community pharmacist, and eventually become involved in clinical outcomes research for pharmaceutical care. Apart from RJS, Sakhi is also involved with Health and Justice Advocates at UCI, whose central mission is to promote advocacy for social justice topics through a public health lens.
